The following section provides information regarding the type and scope of the processing of your personal data by EWG Anhalt-Bitterfeld mbH.

Collection of general information

This website is operated on a web server, which, on the basis of our legitimate interest in the sense of article 6 section 1 page 1 lit. f of the GDPR, creates log files in which the access operations and IPs (access log files) are recorded. This data is automatically deleted after 90 days, and it only serves to facilitate error analysis, as well as to defend the system against potential hacker attacks. Our system administrators who are certified as per ISO 9001:2008 have access to these log files. The administrators are trained regularly and instructed with regard to their special assignments pertaining to the handling of user data.
The following data is collected in the log files:
• Browser type and version
• the operating system used
• the referrer URL (the previously-visited website, and that of the website that has been linked to from our website)
• the IP address of the accessing computer (network)
• the date and time of the server request
• the transmitted status code
• search terms that were entered into the search form
• the accessed document/page

We analyse such anonymous information statistically in order to optimise our website and the technology upon which it is based.

Handling of personal data

Personal data is information that can be used to identify a person, e.g. name, telephone number, bank account, e-mail address. However, other pieces of data such as data pertaining to hobbies or websites visited also constitute personal data if they can be combined with other information in order to draw a conclusion pertaining to a specific person.
We only collect personal data if we are legally permitted to do so, or if the users have given their consent for the same.

Contact form

If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or contact form, the information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing the request and for possible follow-up questions in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit b) General Data Protection Regulation GDPR. The data will be deleted once it is no longer required. The statutory retention requirements apply.

Cookies

We basically only use system-relevant session cookies. You must explicitly select and approve of the use of other cookies, e.g. those that facilitate tracking. Cookies are small text files that are transferred to your hard drive by a website server. We thus automatically receive data such as data pertaining to IP addresses, the browsers that are being used, the operating system, your computer and your Internet connection. Cookies cannot be used to launch programs or transfer viruses to a computer. The information collected in cookies makes it possible for us to make navigation operations easier for you and ensure that our websites are displayed correctly. Under no circumstances shall we provide the data that we have collected to third parties, or establish a link with personal data without your consent. As a matter of principle, you can also view our website without cookies. As a standard feature, Internet browsers are set such that they accept cookies. You can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via your browser’s settings. Please use your Internet browser’s help functions to find out how you can change these settings.

Use of Matomo (formerly PIWIK)

This website uses the open-source Matomo web analysis service. Matomo uses cookies. The web analysis facility is deactivated by default, so that Matomo will not collect any session data for web statistics. If you are willing to let your visit-related data be stored and analysed, you can approve of the storage and usage at any time with a click of the mouse; this can be done at the end of this page. The information that is generated by the cookie and which pertains to the usage of this website is not made available to third parties. The IP address is anonymised immediately after the processing operation and before it is stored.

Use of script libraries (Google Webfonts)

This website uses script and font libraries like Google Webfonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/) in order to ensure that our contents are displayed in a correct, browser-spanning and appealing manner. Google Webfonts are transferred to your browser’s cache in order to prevent repeated downloading. If the browser does not support the Google Webfonts or prevents access, contents shall be displayed in a standard font. The call-up of script or font libraries automatically triggers the establishment of a connection with the library’s operator. Even though it is currently unclear whether and (if applicable) why this takes place, it is theoretically possible that operators of the corresponding libraries could collect data. The privacy policy of the Google library operator can be found at: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Use of Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps API to visually display geographic information. When Google Maps is used, Google also collects, processes and uses data regarding visitors’ use of the map functions. More detailed information regarding the data processing carried out by Google can be found in the Google data privacy statements. You can also change your personal data protection settings at the data protection centre. Extensive instructions for managing one’s own data in conjunction with Google products can be found here.

Social Media Buttons

Our website gives you the option of using so-called ‘social media buttons’. The implementation operation makes use of the ‘Shariff’ solution in order to protect your data. These buttons on the website are thus integrated in the form of mere graphics, which contain a link to the corresponding website of the button provider. Clicking the graphics takes you to the respective providers’ services. Only then will your data be sent to the service provider in question. If you do not click the graphics, nothing shall be exchanged between you and the providers of the social media buttons. Information regarding the collection and usage of your data within the social networks can be found in the corresponding service providers’ respective conditions of use. More information regarding the Shariff solution can be found here: http://www.heise.de/ct/artikel/Shariff-Social-Media-Buttons-mit-Datenschutz-2467514.html
We have integrated the following company’s social media buttons into our website:
• Facebook Inc. (1601 S. California Ave – Palo Alto – CA 94304 – USA)

When it comes to the storage of your data, we function in accordance with the principle of data reduction and data economy. You can always obtain information about your personal data that has been stored with us. You also have the right to correct your personal data. Apart from this, you can, for the future, modify a consent for data processing by EWG or revoke such a consent at any time. This can be done by sending us a corresponding communication.

Data subject rights: Deletion/Blocking of data

When it comes to the storage of your data, we function in accordance with the principle of data reduction and data economy. You have the right to get your personal data deleted.
If required by legislators (e.g. archiving obligation), this shall not apply to data associated with scenarios in which reasons other than legal data-protection-related reasons prohibit the deletion of the data in question. In such a case, the respective data is blocked for further use. In order to be able to consider the blocking of data, such data is kept available in a blocking file for checking-related reasons. If you want to make use of your right to data deletion/blocking, please contact our internal data protection officer (the contact details can be found at the very end). Apart from this, EWG shall routinely delete your personal data as soon as the aforementioned purposes associated with data collection and data processing have been fulfilled. Data for which legislators have specified retention periods shall be deleted after the expiry of the said periods of time (also affects blocked data).

Modification of our data protection regulations

We reserve the right to occasionally adjust this data protection declaration in order to ensure that it always corresponds to the latest legal requirements, or in order to make changes to our services in the data protection declaration, e.g. in case of the introduction of new services. The new data protection declaration shall then apply to your next visit.
